The Ballcourt
A ritual representing opposing gods was celebrated in this open area. This confrontation of
profound symbolic content, alludes to the constant cycle between life and death.
Originally, the court was open, but later the north and south ends were added, indicating
the directional plan on which the construction is oriented, which is related to the four
cardinal points.
The group does not appear to have had altars or markers on the court, and it is thought that
the rings could have been made of wood.
